CPD Install Engineering: This team is seeking Engineers with strong interests in state-of-the-art software update platform, hands-on-experience working with modern software delivery methodology as well as patching and upgrade modeling. The team is responsible for delivering a comprehensive upgrade and update flow for vSphere products in respect to achieving the best user experience.
Our vision is to make it easy to build, package, release and manage software update and upgrade for vSphere platform and its applications.
Responsibilities:
• Be part of an engineering team focusing on software build, delivery and update architecture.
• Focus on design, implementation and testing of the key pieces of the vSphere software update platform.
• Create operationally efficient vSphere platform software release system.
• Drive and influence enterprise-ready software release requirements of major product release.
• Engage and resolve software install, upgrade and update issues coming from enterprise customers.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to drive support readiness for new release.

Requirements:
• Knowledge
- Software install, upgrade and update technologies.
- Software packaging, deployment and configurations.
- PXE boot and diskless setup is a plus.
• Skills
- Strong in Python programming.

• Experiences
- Development in system software in Linux is a must have.
- Open source community experience is a plus.
- Software packaging tools experience – RPM, ipkg or dpkg is nice to have.
• Educations
- BSCS or equivalent is required.
- MSCS or equivalent is preferable.
