The vCenter Operations Management team is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design and implement exceptional User Interfaces to help our users understand and manage their virtual environments. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for creating highly usable, feature-rich, and scalable UI’s which focus on performance and capacity management.
Responsibilities include:
· Be part of an engineering team building VMware’s vCenter Operations Management suite
· Translate functional requirements into highly usable designs
· Design and implement scalable, high quality user interfaces.
· Stay current on key trends in technology especially in the areas of emerging HTML standards and toolkits, and Flex
· Able to support multiple browsers with differing capabilities from a single codebase
· Analyze and optimize the performance to provide a better user experience
· Work closely with Quality Engineering group to make sure that the product meets all required standards
Who you are
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Masters preferred
· At least 3 years of UI development experience
· Experience in building distributed, client/server enterprise management applications a big plus
· Experience with JavaScript, DHTML, HTML 5, and CSS

· Experience with JavaScript, DHTML, HTML 5, and CSS
· Familiar with one more commonly used JavaScript frameworks. Ex. ExtJS, jQuery, etc.
· Experience extending existing frameworks desired
· Knowledge of GWT and Flex desired
· Experience with Java, Spring Framework, and Spring MVC desired
· Able to work on a distributed team using agile methodologies
· Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
· Self-starter interested in virtualization management technology
· Strong software development and system design skills
· Able to work well both independently and as a team member
· Knowledge of web security threats and mitigations
